How to Adopt
Your step-by-step guide to bringing home your puppy
We strive to make the adoption process as transparent, easy, and stress-free as possible. Please review our process below before starting your journey with us.
The Adoption Process
Read & Questionnaire
Read our contract on the contract page, then fill out our adoption questionnaire. We want to know where our precious puppies are going before answering further questions.
Deposit & Waiting List
Once approved, we will send you information on how to place a $500 to $600.00 deposit to secure your spot on our waiting list. Wait times vary from a few months to a year depending on litter sizes and your position on the list. Deposits go toward your puppy’s total price, are non-refundable, but are fully transferable if you wish to pass on a litter. You can pass as many times as you wish for any reason!
Contract & Confirmation
After receiving your deposit, we will send a confirmation and issue a contract as your receipt within about a week.
Choosing Your Puppy
When puppies reach 4 weeks old (or sometimes sooner), it’s your turn to choose! We will email, text, or call you. Please do not email asking when your turn will be; we will notify you directly.
- You have 48 hours to choose or pass once contacted. If we don’t hear back, we move to the next in line.
- If a customer passes or cancels before your turn, we ask for a response within 24 hours.
- Customers can rename their puppy once chosen.
Final Payment & Preparation
Once you choose your puppy and make final payment, your contract is updated for that specific puppy and it is officially yours! We then order supplies and schedule their vet exam and 1st shots. Weekly photo updates are posted to Facebook, or emailed directly if you aren't on social media.
Going Home
After their vet visit, we will email you to set up transport and send you our comprehensive dog care guide. Around 14 to 16 weeks (health permitting), puppies are ready to go home. You can pick up your puppy near our home at a nearby meeting place, or use a professional pet transporter.
Waiting List Expectations & Realities
Before breeding our females each season, I email upcoming customers to check in to see if you are ready for your puppy or want to pass that season. My goal is always for customers to wait under a year. However, nature has variables: litter sizes, successful pregnancies, retirements, or less-than-ideal mother dogs are beyond our control.
We provide estimated timeframes when you join our list, but exact timing cannot be predicted until your puppy is born and chosen. Additionally, because we are extremely busy caring for our animals, we post photos as close to weekly as possible and cannot accommodate requests for extra individual photo sessions.
Transport Options
We prefer customers to pick up their puppies in person. However, if you choose to use a professional pet transporter, we can provide references and connect you with trusted drivers we regularly recommend.
- Flight Transporter: Average cost is around $500.
- Van / Land Transfer: Average cost is around $200 depending on location.
- We are sometimes able to meet customers ourselves for a small fee.
Thank you so much for your love and support! We strive to make this experience as easy and stress-free as possible. Enjoy your puppy!
