Puppy Sales Contract & Health Guarantee

Sales Agreement for a Future Puppy

This contract serves as an agreement for reserving a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy. All puppies are sold strictly as pet-only companions and are not to be used for breeding under any circumstances.

Pricing & Payment

  • Total Cost: The total cost of the puppy is $900 (plus additional transportation fees if pet transport is required).
  • Deposit: A $500 deposit is required to reserve a puppy. This deposit is refundable. If the buyer decides to wait, the deposit can be transferred to a future available litter.
  • Final Payment: The remaining balance must be paid in full before pickup or delivery. We do not accept checks.
  • Cancellations: If the buyer cancels after the final payment is made, a full refund will be given. If the seller cancels the sale due to the buyer violating this contract or mistreating the breeder, a 50% refund will be issued.

Going Home & Care Package

Puppies generally go to their new homes between 14 to 16 weeks of age, depending on the buyer’s discretion, weather permitting for travel, and the puppy's overall readiness.

  • Welcome Packet: Each puppy goes home with a care package that includes a small bag of their current kibble, a new toy, a travel crate/carrier, and a comprehensive puppy care booklet written by us.
  • Delayed Pickups: If a health issue arises before the puppy leaves, they will stay with the breeder until cleared. Alternatively, the buyer may transfer their deposit/payment to another available puppy or a future litter.

Note: We do not offer refunds if a puppy becomes sick prior to leaving; instead, a replacement puppy from the current or a future litter will be provided.

Spay & Neuter Agreement

We require all male and female puppies to be spayed or neutered by 7 months of age (we highly recommend scheduling this at 5 months). Once proof of the spay/neuter procedure is provided by a licensed veterinarian, the puppy’s official pedigree paperwork will be mailed to you. (If the puppy is fixed before leaving our care, the paperwork will be provided on go-home day).

Health & Medical Guarantees

Prior to Leaving Our Care:

  • Puppies will be thoroughly vet-checked.
  • Puppies will receive their first core puppy vaccine (DHPP) and will be dewormed at least twice.
  • If necessary, puppies will be given a flea preventative.
  • You will receive a health pamphlet detailing exactly when their next DHPP booster is due.

72-Hour Health Guarantee:

The puppy is guaranteed to be healthy at the time of sale. The buyer has 72 hours from the time of pickup/delivery (excluding weekends and holidays) to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian of their choosing.

  • The puppy must be isolated from all other pets prior to this vet visit, and for 10 days afterward, or this health guarantee is null and void.
  • If the veterinarian confirms in writing that the puppy has a severe health problem or congenital defect that existed at the time of sale, a replacement puppy can be chosen.
  • Shipping/delivery costs are non-refundable and are the responsibility of the buyer.

1-Year Genetic Health Guarantee:

We provide a replacement guarantee if a fatal genetic condition is discovered within one year from the date of sale.

  • The seller must be notified in writing within two weeks of the diagnosis.
  • If the puppy passes away, an autopsy must be performed by a licensed professional. If the puppy is alive, it must either be returned or examined by the seller's veterinarian.
  • The breeder is not responsible for the buyer's veterinary bills under any circumstances.

Vaccination Safety Protocols:

  • Core Vaccines Only: We advise only core vaccines (DHPP and Rabies). Administering non-core vaccines (such as Leptospirosis or Canine Influenza) without consulting the breeder will render the health guarantee null and void due to the risk of severe side effects in small breeds.
  • Single Vaccines: Buyer agrees to only administer one vaccine per vet visit to prevent severe immune reactions.
  • Surgery Safety: Buyer agrees not to vaccinate the puppy on the same day as their spay/neuter surgery. Vaccines should be given at least 1 week (preferably 4 weeks) before or after surgery to avoid compromising the immune system.

Buyer Responsibilities & Code of Conduct

By adopting a puppy from us, the Buyer agrees to the following terms:

  • Quality of Life: The puppy will be provided a high-quality diet, fresh water daily, and a clean, safe living environment with plenty of toys and enrichment.
  • Companionship: The puppy will not be left alone for more than one day at a time. If the buyer travels, a pet sitter, friend, or family member must care for the dog.
  • Indoor Pet: The puppy is an indoor companion. Outdoor time is encouraged, but the dog must be supervised in a secure enclosure or on a harness. They must never be left to roam freely outdoors.
  • Safety with Other Pets: The puppy will not be left unsupervised with other large dogs or pets until it is entirely safe to do so. Unnecessary risks lead to tragic accidents, and safety must always come first. (Seller makes no guarantee that the puppy will accept, or be accepted by, existing pets).
  • Rehoming Policy: This puppy may never be sold, leased, or surrendered to an animal shelter, pet store, or research laboratory. If the buyer can no longer care for the dog at any point in its life, it must be returned to the breeder (buyer pays transport). No refunds are given for returned pets. (Note: If the dog has a contagious illness, the seller may decline the physical return but will assist the buyer in finding a suitable, safe home).
  • Breeder Updates: Buyer agrees to send a photo update within 24 hours of the puppy's arrival, at 3 months, at 6 months, and at least once yearly thereafter. We love our puppies and rely on these updates to monitor the long-term health and development of our breeding lines.

Waitlist & Breeder Relationship

  • Patience: Buyer understands that wait times are estimates. Waitlists can be extended due to small litter sizes or unsuccessful breedings.
  • Communication: Buyer agrees to wait patiently for the breeder to contact them when it is their turn. Please do not repeatedly call or text asking for timeline updates, as we cannot predict Mother Nature!
  • Mutual Respect: We desire a positive, lifelong relationship with our puppy families. Bullying, harassment, threats, or disrespect toward the breeder will not be tolerated and will result in the immediate cancellation of the sale.

Legal Agreement:
If any of these conditions are violated, the dog will be unconditionally surrendered back to the breeder. In the event that this contract must be litigated, the parties agree that it must be litigated in the Seller's county of residence.

By submitting this application, you agree that you have read our website, policies, and this contract in full, and agree to abide by all terms, including our refund policy.
